What is tufting?

Tufting is a traditional and creative technique used to create carpets and textile artworks.

The process involves inserting yarns into a stretched cloth using a tufting gun, creating a surface with loops or cut fibers (cut pile). This forms the base of the carpet. After the tufting process, the backing is finished and reinforced to ensure the rug retains its shape and quality.

What makes tufting special is the combination of speed, craftsmanship and design freedom. From sleek geometric patterns to playful, organic shapes – with tufting, virtually any design is possible. Hand-tufted carpets, in particular, are beloved for their soft texture, luxurious appearance and unique character.

Tufting is the perfect blend of craftsmanship and creativity, creating stylish carpets that add comfort and personality to any interior.

How does it work?

  1. Stretching the base cloth. A durable fabric is stretched tightly over a frame and your design is projected onto it.

  2. Tufting the yarn. Using a manual or electric tufting gun, colorful yarn is punched into the cloth to follow your design.

  3. Finishing touches. The rug is secured with professional glue, a non-slip backing is added and the surface is trimmed and shaped — ready to bring comfort and character into your home.
